We're hiring a Head of Design for a fast growing datacentre developer backed by a major energy provider. With multiple operational sites across the UK and international expansion underway, this is an opportunity to lead design governance and shape the technical standards behind a next generation datacentre platform.

The role

\n
• Own and develop datacentre design standards and reference architecture
\n
• Lead technical review and sign off of consultant and contractor designs
\n
• Oversee M&E design across critical power, cooling, resilience and heat recovery systems
\n
• Support projects through design, construction, commissioning and handover
\n
• Manage relationships with architects, MEP consultants and design build contractors
\n
• Ensure designs meet performance, resilience, sustainability and HPC requirements
\n

What we're looking for

\n
• 7+ years' experience within datacentres, mission critical facilities, energy, utilities or major infrastructure projects
\n
• Strong Mechanical and Electrical engineering expertise
\n
• Experience acting as a technical authority overseeing third party design delivery
\n
• Experience delivering complex engineering projects through commissioning
\n
• Background as a Head of Design, Design Manager, Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer or similar leadership role
\n
• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
\n

Desirable

\n
• Experience with HPC, AI infrastructure or high density cooling environments
\n
• Knowledge of heat reuse, district heating or thermal networks
\n
• Experience developing design standards across multiple sites, regions or countries
\n
