Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank

As a Blood Bank Technologist, you will perform complex testing procedures related to blood compatibility and transfusion support. The ideal candidate thrives in a detail-oriented environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and patient safety.

• Perform immunohematology testing, including blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testing
\n
• Evaluate and interpret serologic results to support transfusion decisions
\n
• Prepare, label, and issue blood products according to established guidelines
\n
• Assist with the investigation of transfusion-related events and discrepancies
\n
• Monitor quality control data and participate in quality improvement initiatives
\n
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
\n
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
\n
• Follow regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements at all times
\n
• Work collaboratively with laboratory staff and clinical teams to ensure timely patient care
\n

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related scientific discipline
\n
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
\n
• Previous blood bank or transfusion medicine experience preferred
\n
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
\n
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
\n
