Job Summary and QualificationsThe Float Medical Surgical/Acute Care Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering and coordinating patient care. This role involves collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide both physical and emotional support to patients and their families. Key daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting assessments and reassessments.
- Creating personalized care plans.
- Administering medications and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Educating patients and families.
- Ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
- Communicating patient needs effectively.
In this position, you will:
- Engage in patient rounding to enhance satisfaction and uphold quality standards.
- Exhibit knowledge of human growth and development, assessment techniques, treatment options, and care tailored to the ages of the patients served.
- Encourage customer service initiatives.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care that meets patient needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing technical skills and procedures.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in medical/surgical nursing.
- A degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Current licensure from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or an equivalent board.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A commitment to pursue and complete Med-Surg certification within one year of hire.
