Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a thoracic surgery advance practice provider, you will join Creighton University Medical Center's transformednew chapter in Heart & Chest Care.

\n

Every day you will round on hospitalized patients, providing cardiac and thoracic critical care assessments in pre and post-operative surgery. The clinician will be an integral member of the Critical Care Unit Team, working with the attending physicians and other staff, providing necessary information for team-based care decision making.

\n

To be successfulin this role, you will provide specialized tailored care to benefit our patients and their outcomes. At Creighton University Medical Center, we are growing the advanced practice provider Coverage Program for all Cardiac & Thoracic in-patient, ER Consults, Floor Consults, Triaging and Nursing support.

\n

This exceptional position would join another member to work the weekday day shift:

  • Active Rounding

  • Pulling Chest Tubes
  • \n
  • Replacing Feeding Tubes
  • \n
  • Checking on Vitals
  • \n
  • Checking on Labs
  • \n
  • Running interference for the attending Physician
  • \n
  • Managing treatment plans
  • \n

Required:

    Graduate of an accredited advanced practice training program (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

  • \n
  • \n

    Meet board eligibilityor certification requirements

  • \n
  • \n

    Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong clinical skills

  • \n
  • \n

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and health-careprofessionals
