Opportunity Overview
- Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (on-call duties prorated)
- Primary Role: Directly administer cardiac anesthesia (no medical direction model); during non-cardiac weeks, practice general anesthesia at the same facility.
- Schedule: A mix of in-house clinical responsibilities and home cardiac call; flexible full-time and part-time schedules available, emphasizing work-life balance. Call and holiday duties are shared among the team to ensure individual flexibility in hours and compensation.
- Location and Hospital Information: Focused on a single site at our facility, a Level 2 trauma center.

Team Information:
- Work within a care team model, providing medical oversight to CRNAs while also having the chance to perform cases personally.
- Diverse mix of general and complex cases, including orthopedic (both elective and trauma), gynecology, ENT, complex vascular, neurosurgery, interventional cardiology (including EP and structural heart), OB, and a full range of cardiothoracic cases.
- Utilization of peripheral nerve blocks and advanced regional techniques to achieve enhanced recovery goals in collaboration with our surgical partners.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits:
- $325/hour for in-house clinical shifts; 1.0 FTE = 2,000 hours annually; a competitive shift-based compensation model that balances both cardiac and general anesthesia practices.
- Weekday call: $70/hour; Friday night call: $80/hour; Weekend/holiday call: $80/hour; Call-back/additional time: $650 per 2-hour increment.
- Up to $75,000 annually in value-based incentives (dependent on quality, outcomes, and system performance).
- High earning potential: Additional shifts at $365/hour, with opportunities to increase earnings through extra coverage.
- Starting bonus of up to $25,000.

Qualifications
- Physicians: Must be board certified in a relevant clinical area or board eligible, with a commitment to achieve board certification within five years of the start date (unless otherwise required by applicable medical staff bylaws).
- Active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain one).
- DEA license.
- ACLS/BLS certification (must be maintained).
Duties & Responsibilities
A typical day may involve:
- Delivering direct patient care.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Engaging in teaching and mentoring activities.
- Documenting in Epic EMR.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting community health initiatives.
