Position Overview and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all operations within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC supervises, assesses, and enhances nursing care in line with established protocols. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a dedication to the organization’s mission and values, aiming to foster outstanding patient experiences and clinical results that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to cultivate a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Embraces a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Contributes to the facility’s engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, such as employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists in staff scheduling and manages labor resources in accordance with patient care requirements and established productivity standards.
  • Ensures proper inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate Degree in Nursing.
