This entry-level role typically requires minimal prior experience and is supported by vocational or technical education.
Job OverviewYour primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting radiologic procedures on assigned patients in accordance with departmental policies and hospital objectives.
- Ensuring that all procedures adhere to radiological standards safely, accurately, and promptly, in line with the American College of Radiology (ACR) imaging standards.
- Managing designated areas and/or procedures as assigned.
- Collaborating with various departments to ensure a high standard of healthcare delivery.
- Associate degree in Radiology or a related field.
- Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT).
- State license for Radiologic Technologist or eligibility for licensure.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Experience in healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with X-Ray procedures.
- Prior experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
The following duties are indicative of the role but not exhaustive:
- Execute radiologic procedures on patients as per established policies and standards.
- Confirm patient identity and the procedure to be performed.
- Provide clear and precise instructions to patients.
- Ensure adherence to correct imaging protocols and parameters for each patient.
- Prioritize safety for both patients and staff regarding equipment usage.
- Engage in ongoing education and training initiatives.
- Conduct quality control checks on equipment as necessary.
- Coordinate with other staff and departments to facilitate patient care.
- Maintain inventory and request supplies as needed.
- Keep work areas clean and compliant with DPH and The Joint Commission standards.
- Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting of 30-35 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for operating radiology equipment.
- Ability to hear and see adequately to perform examinations and monitor equipment.
- Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
- Understanding of radiologic equipment, examinations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
