Job Opportunity: Chief of Primary Care Physician

Our organization is currently seeking a full-time Chief of Primary Care Physician at our medical center located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Nestled along the Red River in the northwest region of the state, Shreveport is part of the 'Ark-La-Tex' area, where the borders of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas converge. This vibrant locale offers a rich blend of cultural influences, including Cajun heritage and a touch of Texan charm, being just a short drive from the Texas border. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive Primary Care/Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) program focused on patient management and education.
• Manage the training program for all aspects of Primary Care approved for our medical center.
• Plan, implement, direct, and assess the activities of the Primary Care Service, including staffing, budgeting, equipment, and supply needs.
• Ensure the success of the program's vision and mission, with ultimate accountability for its outcomes.
• Report to the Chief of Staff regarding the overall management of Primary Care.
• Interpret and evaluate clinical data to establish diagnoses and assess clinical status.
• Recognize changes in patient behavior and symptoms, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Exhibit leadership in organizing and coordinating clinical, administrative, and educational initiatives.
• Make informed decisions based on available data and take responsibility for those decisions.
• Maintain professional responsibilities by completing assignments and attending appointments reliably.
• Ensure timely and thorough clinical documentation, keeping accurate records in line with hospital regulations.
• Act as a mentor and educator for Primary Care staff, residents, trainees, and students, tailoring educational activities to individual needs.
• Encourage staff to identify research opportunities and conduct literature reviews on relevant healthcare topics for Veterans.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and implement necessary processes to uphold accreditation and other standards.
• Communicate respectfully with patients and families, ensuring they understand policies and procedures, and involve them in care planning as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or an equivalent degree.
• Current, unrestricted medical or surgical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of Residency Training or nearing completion.
• Preferred: Board Certification in the relevant specialty and prior supervisory experience.

Working Conditions

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive starting salary ranging from $320,000 to $350,000.
• Annual performance bonus potential of up to $15,000.
