Job Opportunity: Gynecology Surgeon

Our organization is seeking a dedicated, board-certified or board-eligible Gynecology Surgeon to join our Women's Health department on a full-time, permanent basis. This role reports directly to the Chief of Surgery and focuses on delivering comprehensive medical care to women, particularly in relation to pregnancy and childbirth. The Gynecology Surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and monitoring various conditions while providing general healthcare to female patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering care during prenatal, natal, and postnatal stages.
• Diagnosing and managing diseases, disorders, and health conditions.
• Prescribing medications in line with established protocols and organizational policies.
• Conducting pap smears, pelvic examinations, and breast assessments.
• Assessing mood and emotional health during postpartum visits.
• Providing family planning services.
• Collaborating with both medical and non-medical staff.
• Monitoring patient progress throughout treatment and striving for improved health outcomes.
• Offering comprehensive reproductive health services throughout a woman's life, including care during pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause.
• Educating patients about treatment plans, including potential side effects and medication risks.
• Promoting disease prevention and reproductive health awareness.
• Exhibiting strong written documentation skills.
• Conducting routine check-ups and ensuring follow-up care.
• Providing excellent customer service and communication with patients.
• Managing multiple tasks and projects as assigned.

Our facility, located in Oklahoma City, OK, serves as the flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System. This Joint Commission accredited facility provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services to over 70,000 veterans across 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule

This position requires full-time availability, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Preference will be given to U.S. citizens, although non-citizens may also be considered.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical license in the U.S.
• Board certification is preferred, but board eligibility will also be considered. Additional certification in Internal Medicine is a plus.
• A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary ranges from $315,000 to $400,000 annually.

• A recruitment incentive may be available, along with the possibility of an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
• Retirement benefits include a Federal Retirement Plan through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), which consists of Social Security benefits, FERS-FRAE basic benefits (pension), and a Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) with government matching contributions up to 5%.
• Eligibility for the Education Debt Repayment Program (EDRP).
• Liability protection with tail coverage is provided at no cost.
• Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available.
