Job Responsibilities
The Physician will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and providing consultations to adult patients in an outpatient environment within our organization.
Key responsibilities for the Primary Care faculty include:
- Delivering direct patient care in an outpatient setting.
- Engaging in population health management and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Managing a diverse panel of primary care patients, both male and female.
- Conducting thorough assessments, including health histories, physical examinations, and patient education for Veterans in a Primary Care team context.
- Working collaboratively as a vital member of a multi-disciplinary Primary Care team to coordinate and deliver patient services.
- Identifying normal versus abnormal findings to establish diagnoses and respond appropriately to urgent health issues.
- Making necessary referrals and consultations to other clinical services as required.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, recommending treatments or referrals as appropriate.
- Assessing the effectiveness of previously administered medical treatments.
- Initiating, evaluating, and modifying medication orders as needed.
- Prior training or clinical experience in an academic teaching environment is preferred.
- A full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory is required.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
