Mechanical Test Engineer Location: Middletown, RH Job ID: #72785 Pay Range: $85-100 Key Requirements and Responsibilities Perform instrumentation planning and test conduct of all Hardware Tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, and structural testing Dynamic and thermal data acquisition and analysis Provide test fixture design coordination Work independently and take ownership of program/project to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals Prepare test plans, schedules, test reports, and technical documentation of project work assigned Work directly with design engineering, structural analysis personnel, manufacturing engineering, and commercial customers Provide technical expertise to programs as needed Factory and supplier testing support domestically and internationally Generate detailed, archival technical reports Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion (depending on work assignment) Willingness to travel to domestic sites, suppliers, and government facilities Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience Hands on mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a lab environment Qualifications We Prefer Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. ABET Experience in Hardware and Environmental Testing (i.e. Dynamic Shock/Vibration, Climatic, Structural) Experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal processing, data acquisition, field test instrumentation, or structural testing Ability to work in a collaborative, team based environment and independently Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent Experience with Matlab Experience presenting to external customers Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written Ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities Benefits provided: 401K, medical, dental, and vision, sick time as applicable to state law Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is an equal opportunity employer.
