\n We are seeking a hands-on Transit Bus Technician with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and welding experience to support inspections, repairs, retrofits, warranty work, and fleet maintenance activities. This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys diagnosing equipment issues, working independently, and performing welding and fabrication work as part of broader vehicle repair and maintenance projects.\n

\n The majority of the role focuses on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and field service support, with welding and fabrication responsibilities performed as needed to support vehicle modifications, structural repairs, and retrofit projects.\n
\n
\n What You'll Do\n
\n
\n - Perform mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs on transit vehicles
\n - Troubleshoot and repair vehicle systems, components, and equipment
\n - Conduct inspections, diagnostics, warranty repairs, and retrofit installations
\n - Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components
\n - Complete fabrication, modification, and structural repair projects as required
\n - Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation
\n - Diagnose and repair wiring, relays, lighting systems, motors, and related electrical components
\n - Conduct vehicle acceptance testing and quality inspections
\n - Travel locally to customer locations and transit agencies throughout the Bay Area
\n - Document service activities and communicate technical findings with customers and internal teams
\n - Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA standards, and high-voltage safety requirements
\n - Utilize company-provided PPE and safety equipment
\n
\n
\n Required Qualifications\n
\n
\n - 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, field service, fleet maintenance, transit vehicles, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, rail equipment, or related industries
\n - Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
\n - Experience performing MIG and/or TIG welding
\n - Experience welding stainless steel and carbon steel
\n - Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
\n - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
\n - Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
\n

\n Preferred Qualifications\n

\n - AWS Welding Certification
\n - Stainless steel welding certification
\n - Transit bus maintenance experience
\n - Electric vehicle (EV) experience
\n - Hybrid vehicle experience
\n - Hydrogen fuel cell experience
\n - High-voltage electrical systems experience
\n - PLC troubleshooting experience
\n - Electrical or HVAC certifications
\n - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
