Gastroenterologist
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Gastroenterologist to become part of our expanding healthcare team. The ideal candidate should be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology, possessing a strong background in diagnosing and managing disorders related to the gastrointestinal (GI) system, which includes the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.
This role involves providing comprehensive outpatient care, conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, and collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding patient care.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate and treat patients with various gastrointestinal conditions.
Carry out procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), sigmoidoscopies, polypectomies, and capsule endoscopy.
Analyze diagnostic tests, encompassing lab results, imaging studies, and endoscopic findings.
Create and execute individualized treatment plans for patients.
Offer consultation services to other healthcare providers.
Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Inform patients and their families about digestive health, preventive strategies, and available treatment options.
Ensure accurate and current medical records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.
Engage in staff meetings and continuing education, with a schedule of 3 days in clinic and 2 days dedicated to procedures.
Participate in a reasonable shared call system with mid-level support available 7 days a week.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine.
Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology.
For General GI: Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology, with an unrestricted medical license in Florida or eligibility for licensure.
For Advanced GI: Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology with specialized training in EUS and ERCP, along with an unrestricted Florida medical license or eligibility for licensure.
Possession of a valid and unrestricted medical license in Florida.
DEA license for prescribing medications.
