\n The Neurologist/Pain Management Physician will evaluate neurology and pain patients, offer clinical care, and support our Traumatic Brain Injury Program. This position requires a personable and skilled provider to help build relationships, to create a positive atmosphere in our clinics and a provider who will have the ability to diagnose pathology and recommend appropriate treatments.
\n**Provider can sit at any nearby location to San Jose, San Francisco, Campbell, Sacramento, and Modesto.**
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Evaluating patients with a multidisciplinary team to determine which candidates are appropriate on a medical basis for enrollment to the TBI Program \n
- Perform neuro consultations and establish appropriate treatment plans. \n
- Be a consultant for any patient in the TBI program who requires a neurologist/medical attention. \n
- Evaluate and manage neurological patients. \n
- Conduct spinal procedures on eligible candidates. \n
- Analyze reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose the condition of patients and propose treatment options. \n
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions. \n
- Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment. \n
- Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing. \n
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. \n
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws. \n
- Record complete, timely and legible medical records. \n
QUALIFICATIONS:
\nEDUCATION:
\n- \n
- Current California Medical Practitioner License. \n
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing. \n
- Board Certified Physician \n
REQUIREMENTS:
\n- \n
- Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting. \n
- Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments, and health regimens to treat patient health issues. \n
- Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues. \n
- Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. \n
- Experience with California Workers Compensation System Preferred \n
- Good knowledge base of neurology, Musculoskeletal pathology and treatment is essential. \n
- Must have the ability to relate to patients in chronic pain. \n
- Must understand the difference between chronic and acute pain. \n
- Expected to coherently explain why increased pain is not necessarily related to increased tissue damage and how deconditioning leads to increased pain and depression. \n
Compensation Range:
\n$275,000 to $400,000 Annually
\nAll compensation ranges are posted based on internal equity, job requirements, experience, and geographical locations.
