The Go Team PA/NP is prepared to deliver primary health care, including but not limited to: recognition and management of common illnesses and injuries in the Emergency Department and inpatient setting HM, ICU, some of which may be determined by protocol; provision of care across the health care continuum with emphasis on the early detection and treatment of disease, as well as prevention

\nAPP must be flexible and have the ability to travel to various RWJBarnabas locations on a regular basis based on staffing needs
\nAPP must be able to work proficiently in HM, EM, and ICU
\n\n
Essential Clinical Functions of Job
\nWork clinical shifts
\nMembership to the medical staff and/or allied health staff
\nMaintains appropriate certifications, licenses, and hospital privileges
\nObtains and records patient history and performs physical examinations
\nResponsible for completing a medical screening exam
\nPerform diagnostic and therapeutic studies
\nOrders diagnostic laboratory tests, radiological studies or other therapies as appropriate
\nEstablishes diagnostic decision-making and initiates a treatment plan, which may include
\nordering medications, additional therapeutic modalities, etc
\nCoordinates patient care with other members of the health care team
\nInitiates consultation request to other health professionals to provide more comprehensive patient management
\nInstructs and counsels patients regarding mental and physical health; referring patients to appropriate specialists/resources
\nAdequately manages patient flow in the ED/HM/ICU
\nPerforming other procedures as allowed by state law and under the direction of your supervising or collaborating physician
\nActive participation in department staff meetings and risk management education
\nThorough and timely chart completion
\nCompletes required courses, i,e, HIPAA, EMTALA and other CME CEU requirements
\nMust be able work extended hours including weekdays, overnights, weekends, and holidays
\n\n
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
\nMedical knowledge, broad based understanding of clinical emergency and hospital medicine
\nStrong communication skills, written and verbal
\nMaintains good working relationships with ED/HM/ICU team and hospital medical staff
\nExcellent organizational and time management skills
\nWorks within legal, regulatory and ethical practice standards
\nFlexibility with scheduling and willing to help out with urgent scheduling needs

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
\nMust have a minimum of 5 years relevant EM, HM, and/or ICU experience, ideally candidate will be proficient in all
\nMaster's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
\nPhysician Assistant Certification
\nRegistration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant Advisory required
\nBasic Life Support BLS and Advanced Life Support ACLS Certifications
\nNew Jersey CDS and DEA Licensure
\nActive membership in a professional organization preferred
