Are you a multi-talented Automation Technician who loves taking mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems from concept to full operation? We are looking for a hands-on problem solver to build, program, maintain, and troubleshoot our automated manufacturing equipment.

From writing PLC/robot logic and building fixtures to high-voltage electrical troubleshooting, you will play a critical role in keeping our facility safe, efficient, and running at peak quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build & Integrate: Assemble, program, and commission automated/robotic systems, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, and peripheral gear (welders, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics).

  • Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues (logic level up to 440V). Disassemble/reassemble servomotors, encoders, and circuit boards.

  • Programming & Motion: Develop, debug, and back up PLC logic and robotic path motions to maximize cycle times, efficiency, and safety.

  • Fabrication & Machining: Fabricate custom jigs, housings, and fixtures using manual shop tools (Lathe, Bridgeport, Surface Grinder) and welding equipment.

  • Preventive Maintenance: PM schedules, maintain detailed service records, track inventory usage, and collaborate with production leadership.

Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Extensive background in PLC programming, relay logic, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, multi-meter usage, and blueprint reading.
  • Robotics: Allen-Bradley controls and Fanuc robotics experience is very desireable.
  • Machining & Tools: Proficiency with toolroom machinery, TIG welding, and precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers).

  • Certifications: Hi-Lo, rigging, and crane certifications (or ability to certify).

  • Mindset: Highly self-motivated, safety-focused, and eager to track down root-cause problems independently while supporting a team atmosphere.

  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, crouch, and navigate a fast-paced manufacturing shop floor.

Responsibilities

Work with Maintenance Manager to schedule work to be done to support production.

Perform electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic modifications on fixtures.

Support a team concept of working together in a mutually supportive atmosphere, respecting individuality, encouraging and using

suggestions, and expressing appreciation for the efforts of our co-workers at all levels.

Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to maximize

machine utilization and productivity

Fabricate automation and robotic systems to increase production and quality.

Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors.

Integrate robotics with peripherals, such as welders, controllers, or other equipment.

Provide user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation,

upgrades, or enhancements.

Provide customer support, determine sources of problems, trouble shoot to resolution.

Disassemble and reassemble robots or peripheral equipment to make repairs such as replacement of defective circuit boards,

sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.

Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.

Program / Debug robotics programs

Build or assemble robotic devices or systems.

Fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures, using metalworking machines.

The essential functions of this role include:
  • working in a smoke free environment
  • wearing steel toe shoes
  • working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • manual lifting up to 50lbs
  • standing for 7 hours at one time
  • working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week

  • Skills
  • Electro-Mechanical skills (4 years of experience is required)
  • Fabrication (3 years of experience is preferred)
  • TIG welding (2 years of experience is preferred)
  • Lathe
  • Bridgeport
  • Surface Grinding
  • Pneumatics (3 years of experience is required)
  • Hydrualics (3 years of experience is required)
  • Blueprints (3 years of experience is preferred)
  • PLC Programming Logic (2 years of experience is required)
  • Fanuc Robotics (2 years of experience is required)
  • Allen Bradley controls (2 years of experience is required)
