PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n- \n
- Provides direct clinical/patient care duties and responsibilities as required, including psychiatric evaluation, re-evaluation, disposition, coordination of medical services with nurse on duty, medication orders/prescribing, monitoring patients, etc. \n
- Incorporates Evidenced Based Best Practice Standards into service delivery. \n
- Provides care compliant with licensing regulations and accreditation standards. \n
- Determines medical necessity. \n
- Researches medical topics such as psychotropic medication, psychiatric evaluation, coordination of care, etc. \n
- Supervises coordination of care activities. \n
- Directs discharge planning. \n
- Completes clinical documentation as required. \n
- Provides supervision and direction to the mobile crisis team. \n
- Reviews Eligibility assessments for members contacting the Crisis Care Center. \n
- Completes required trainings. \n
- Teaches NP/PA students and other Advanced Practice Providers, as appropriate. \n
- Participates in clinical and administrative meetings. \n
- Participates in Quality Assurance reviews. \n
- Collaborates and discusses cases with psychiatrist. \n
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, recovery outcomes, and medical care. \n
- Handles work responsibilities and challenges with honest and ethical behavior. \n
- Ensures appropriate responses to all medical emergencies. \n
- Provides clinical coverage and consultation on any urgent clinical issue that may arise between the time that members contact the Crisis Care Center and/or Mobile Crisis Teams and until they are seen by our Clinically Responsible Service Providers. \n
- Attends shift handover meetings. \n
- Understands and adheres to DWIHN compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. \n
- Maintains patient confidentiality per federal guidelines and DWIHN policy and procedures. \n
- Identifies and timely reports any health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace. \n
- Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director. \n
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
\n\n
\n- \n
- A Master's Degree (MSN) in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMH) Nursing or other MSN with additional coursework for eligibility for PMH Board Certification \n
OR
\n\n
\n- \n
- A Bachelor's Degree, completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program, licensure as a Physician Assistant \n
REQUIRED LICENSES:
\n- \n
- A Valid State of Michigan clinical licensure.\n
- \n
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant. Continuing certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. Or \n
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse and certified from MI State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner and ANA/ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). \n

\n
\n- \n
- A valid State of Michigan Drivers License with a safe and acceptable driving record. \n
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
\n- \n
- Required DEA, License and BLS certification. \n
- A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process. \n
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
\n- \n
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience. \n
- Minimum one (1) years of behavioral health experience. \n
- Additional Primary care and hospital experience preferred. \n
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
\n- \n
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience treating child and adolescent populations in mental health settings. \n
- Additional Primary care, Addiction medicine and/or pediatric experience a plus. \n
WORKING CONDITIONS:
\nWork is usually performed at the Crisis Center but may require the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan.
\nShift Schedule
\n- \n
- Reports to shifts as scheduled, either from 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am or as assigned. \n
- Participates in weekend coverage. \n
