We are on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated Physicians to become part of our Hematology/Oncology team in West Michigan. This is a fantastic chance to significantly influence the health of our community while thriving in a supportive, mission-oriented setting. You will have the opportunity to specialize in hematology or solid tumors while also managing a comprehensive range of hematology/oncology patient care, which includes new patient evaluations and ongoing treatment for established patients. Candidates will be expected to work in coordination with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for patients, families, and staff alike.

  • Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
  • Location: West Michigan; Grand Rapids and Muskegon
  • Specialty: Hematology/Oncology
  • Comprehensive oncology service line with access to various subspecialties, including but not limited to Radiation Oncology, Neuro Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Thoracic and Colorectal surgery.
  • A broad Cancer Network serving much of the West Michigan area and the Lake Michigan shoreline, with an extensive Primary Care referral network and affiliation with a major university.
  • A full range of ancillary support staff and programs, including Advanced Practice Providers, Infusion services, Care Management, Social Work, Nurse Navigation, Nurse triage, Research, Clinical Trials, Laboratory, Pharmacy, genetics, and financial counseling.

Requirements

  • Completion of fellowship training is mandatory.
  • Physicians: Must be board certified in a relevant clinical area or board eligible, with the expectation of achieving board certification within five years of the Start Date (unless otherwise required by applicable medical staff by-laws).
  • Possession of an active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one).
  • DEA license is required.
  • BLS certification (must be maintained).

Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may involve:

  • Delivering direct patient care.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Engaging in teaching and mentoring activities.
  • Documenting patient information in Epic EMR.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting community health initiatives.
