Overview:

\n

We are high-paced, high-energy unit specializing in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care along Post Women’s Surgical unit.

\n

\n

Within our unit we have:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    40-MB rooms

  • \n
  • \n

    15-LDR rooms

  • \n
  • \n

    14-High Risk Antepartum

  • \n
  • \n

    8-bed OBED unit

  • \n
  • \n

    4-LIBC Birthing Suites

  • \n
  • \n

    4-Pre Post Rooms 3-OR suites (where we circulate all of our own cases

Within our unit we also have full-time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatient and outpatients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and second leading in the Ministry. Our teams offer a comprehensive suite of services at the Love Family's Women's Center.

\n

Nurses are expected to maintain competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency Department, and may be assigned to float between these departments based on patient care needs.

\n

Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

  • \n
  • \n

    Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

  • \n

    Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

  • \n

    Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
