Job Summary
\nThe Critical Care APP is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient care through collaboration with the Physician for Critical Care patients The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee
\nThe Lead APP for Critical Care provides advanced clinical care to critically ill patients while serving as a clinical and operation leader for the critical care APP team
\nThis role provides expert bedside practice with leadership responsibilities including mentorship quality improvement scheduling support and collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure high quality safe and efficient patient care

\nEssential Functions
\nProvides comprehensive critical care services to patients in the ICU and IMCU including assessment diagnosis and management of complex high acuity conditions
\nDemonstrates strong organizational skills communicates effectively and demonstrates effective time management
\nDemonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care within a critical care environment
\nRegularly communicates with nursing leadership and staff concerning patient care issues
\nDemonstrates the ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care
\nParticipate in multidisciplinary rounds care planning and family discussions
\nPerforms appropriate interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic testing
\nPerform and or assist with invasive and noninvasive procedures in accordance with hospital privileges and scope of practice
\nEnsures compliance with evidence-based protocols clinical pathways and patient safety standards
\nParticipates in quality improvement initiatives peer review and patient safety activities
\nPromotes adherence to regulatory requirements and hospital policies
\nEncourages professional growth and certification maintenance within the APP team
\nProvides mentorship coaching and performance feedback to APPs
\nServes as a clinical resource and escalation support for APP team members during shift
\nSupport onboarding orientation and training of new hires and students
\nAssists with staffing scheduling coordination and coverage needs as delegated by leadership
\nFosters a collaborative respectful and high functioning team culture
\nServes as a liaison between APP staff physicians nursing leadership and administration
\n\n
Job Requirements APN or PA
\nPrior leadership preferred
\nExperience in quality improvement or clinical education
\nAcute care certification
\n1 to 2 years acute care hospital experience preferred
\nCurrent APN or PA certification
\nCurrent NJ state license CDS and DEA
\nCurrent BLS and ACLS required
\n\n
