Position Overview:
This role involves conducting a range of imaging examinations essential for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions and injuries. Responsibilities include performing plain films, fluoroscopy, portable imaging, and operating room examinations, as well as conducting Bone Density assessments (BD registry is mandatory).
Key Responsibilities:- Must maintain a minimum of 30% of FTE in a secondary modality to qualify for a Multiple Modality position.
- Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
- Implement safety standards and radiation protection protocols.
- Assist physicians in performing special and advanced procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards in all activities.
- Submit high-quality images and documentation to PACS promptly, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data/history.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
- Work with a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education: Completion of a Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy program.
Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:- Regularly stand and walk.
- Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Regularly communicate verbally and distinguish sounds for patient care and safety.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs frequently; assist in moving patients.
- Occasionally lift objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Engage in bending, stooping, and repetitive movements as needed.
- Rarely kneel or sit.
For the state of Missouri or Oklahoma, the following certifications are required:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Or ARRT-T Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Or ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- And ARRT-CT Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Or Computed Tomography (CT) Credential - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
