Job Overview

The faculty member will engage actively in clinical, research, and academic services within the Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role involves providing patient care at both the UW Hospital and Clinics and Meriter UnityPoint Hospital.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse array of complex gynecologic conditions using both office-based and surgical treatment options.
• Demonstrate proficiency in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary pelvic pain clinic.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a program focused on office-based procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the academic specialist division to enhance surgical skills through assistance and teaching during advanced benign gynecologic surgeries.
• Engage fully in on-call duties for the benign gynecology service.

Research and Educational Involvement

The ideal candidate should show a strong interest in clinical and/or educational research, with expectations to initiate and engage in various research projects and quality outcome programs. Teaching responsibilities will include mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.

Administrative Duties

The successful applicant will also take part in administrative tasks and committee work that support the clinical and scholarly objectives of the organization and the School of Medicine and Public Health. Building collegial relationships with fellow faculty members will be a vital aspect of these responsibilities.

Academic Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in surgical training programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Facilitate advanced surgical training opportunities for faculty members.
• Contribute to the simulation lab, focusing on the development of advanced skills and metrics for residents.
