Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized nursing care by employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating patient care
- Conducting patient assessments
- Providing patient education
- Triage and various nursing interventions
This position requires collaboration with a range of inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The RN must demonstrate proficiency and operate within the full spectrum of nursing knowledge, adhering to age and population-specific standards relevant to their clinical environment. Compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice is essential. Our professional nursing practice framework acknowledges the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as established by the American Nurses Association, serving as the foundation for nursing care delivery and professional behavior.
QualificationsPreferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, such as those recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is also preferred.
The candidate must possess an unencumbered RN license from the State Board of Nursing in the state where they will practice, or hold multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. It is also necessary to obtain and maintain any required department-specific licenses, competencies, and certifications.
