Job Opportunity: Pediatric Urologist

The Department of Urology at our organization is on the lookout for a fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist to enhance our expanding pediatric surgical team. This is a remarkable chance to engage in the full spectrum of pediatric urology at the region's sole Children's Hospital, all within a supportive, multidisciplinary academic setting.

The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric urologic care, which includes both office-based procedures and surgical interventions at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital. This position provides a well-rounded clinical practice, complemented by access to academic resources, collaborative colleagues, and robust support from advanced practice providers.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide array of pediatric urologic conditions
  • Provide care in outpatient clinics, inpatient consult services, and the operating room
  • Perform in-office procedures as well as hospital-based surgical operations
  • Work closely with pediatric surgery, pediatrics, anesthesia, nursing, and advanced practice colleagues
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary care models
  • Participate in teaching activities aligned with academic practice as appropriate
Department Overview

Our department boasts excellent clinical facilities with convenient patient access and complimentary parking. We are located right next to an outpatient surgery center within the same building, featuring in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, and laboratory technician services. Our urology residency program is outstanding, with fellowship-trained faculty across all urologic subspecialties. We train three residents annually, who are highly accomplished graduates. Regular interactions with students are encouraged, and rotations are highly rated by them. There are numerous opportunities for clinical and basic research, supported by three in-house clinical research staff to assist with the IRB process and participant interactions. We also facilitate student and resident research rotations.

Qualifications
  • MD/DO (or equivalent) with board certification or eligibility in Urology
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited urology residency
  • Fellowship training in pediatric urology
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State
  • Academic rank is flexible (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) and will be determined based on experience and qualifications
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Dedication to teaching, mentoring, and advancing the field of pediatric urology
