Position Overview: Geriatrician Section Head

Our organization is in search of a Geriatric Section Head to spearhead our expanding program within the Division of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics & Palliative Care. This pivotal role involves developing a comprehensive strategy for exceptional clinical services, education, and research aimed at older adults across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and home environments. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, patient-focused team player who is also a leader dedicated to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals while addressing the needs of our aging patient population.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with Geriatric Fellowship training
• Eligible for medical licensure in South Carolina
• Proven leadership experience in academia, teaching, or research
• Collaborative and collegial approach with a strong commitment to high-quality patient care
• Academic focus and enthusiasm for mentoring
