\nJob Opportunity Tracks:
\nTrack 1: Outpatient and Diagnostic Focus
\nLocation: Kernersville Outpatient Clinic
\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic clinician to join our team. Responsibilities for this track include:
\nClinical Duties: Evaluate patients in the clinic, interpreting echocardiograms, stress tests, and nuclear stress tests (no nuclear board certification required).
\nDiagnostic Responsibilities: Interpret Holter monitor and heart monitor results.
\n\n
Track 2: Inpatient and Procedural Focus with Outpatient and Diagnostic Responsibilities
\nLocation: Charlotte, NC Outpatient Clinic with One Day a Week at Salisbury VA Medical Center (Inpatient)
\nClinical Duties: Evaluate patients in the clinic, interpreting echocardiograms, stress tests, and nuclear stress tests (no nuclear board certification required).
\nDiagnostic Responsibilities: Interpret Holter monitor and heart monitor results.
\nInpatient Care: Evaluate and treat inpatient cases with a focus on comprehensive cardiac care.
\nProcedural Expertise: Perform transesophageal echocardiograms and electro cardioversions.
\nSedation Management: Provide conscious sedation for relevant procedures.
\n\n
Teaching and Research Opportunities: While our primary focus is on clinical service, there are opportunities for clinical research and academic activities. Candidates with grant funding for research may allocate a portion of their time to these endeavors, although more than 50% of the role will remain clinical. For example, a 75% clinical and 25% research split is possible if candidates have their own funding.

Teaching Opportunities in Salisbury Track #2: Teaching is available, although it represents a smaller part of our practice. Educators will primarily be engaged in clinical service, with up to 10% of their time devoted to teaching medical and PA students.
\n\n
Work Schedule/Tour of Duty:
\nTraditional Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
\nAlternative Schedule: Four days per week, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM. The specific days are open for discussion.
\n\n
Call Coverage:
\nNature: Call coverage is handled exclusively by phone.
\nFrequency: Approximately once every 7 weeks.
\nLocation: You will not be required to go into the hospital during your on-call rotation.
\n\n
Academic Affiliation: Wake Forest University School of Medicine
\n\n
Requirements:
\nU.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.
\nEducation: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
\nLicensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
\nResidency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty
\nBoard Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology.
\n\n
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases (Sign -On Bonus Authorized)
Paid Time Off: 50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure:1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $2,500 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
