\nLake Worth, Florida 33461We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Cardiology team. This role involves assisting patients with preparation for physician examinations, performing patient triage and assessments, providing education, and ensuring appropriate follow-up care as directed by the physician. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable about HMO insurance carriers. This role requires someone who can build a kind and professional rapport with patients, maintain accurate records, and support a smooth flow of back-office functions in a fast-paced environment.*Position Description & Duties and Responsibilities:*\n
\n* Perform triage and patient assessment.\n
\n* Take patient vitals as needed.\n
\n* Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures prescribed by the physician.\n
\n* Support the physician during clinical office procedures.\n
\n* Provide patient education and instruction as required.\n
\n* Assist with the follow-up of patient test results and ensure proper instructions for further care.\n
\n* Administer medications as prescribed by the physician and maintain accurate medication logs.\n
\n* Coordinate scheduling and pre-certification for tests (e.g., CT, MRI, PET scans) ordered by the physician.\n
\n* Maintain patient charts, records, and dictation for the assigned physician.\n
\n* Take patient phone messages and follow up as necessary.\n
\n* Ensure a safe and clean environment for patient care.\n
\n* Perform tasks as needed for lab and X-ray (if certified).\n
\n* Order medical supplies as necessary.\n
\n* Perform other duties as assigned by the physician or practice manager.\n
\n*Position Qualifications / Education & Experience:*\n
\n* High School diploma or equivalent required.\n
\n* Cardiology experience preferred\n
\n* 1-2 years of experience in a medical setting preferred; clinical or formal medical training in a trade school with certification is a plus.\n
\n* Familiarity with Athena, CPT, and ICD-10 codes is helpful.\n
\n* Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively interact with staff, physicians, and patients.\n
\n* Must be proficient in typing and using a computer keyboard with accuracy.\n
\n* Ability to remain flexible and handle various tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic environment.\n
