MUST OBTAIN AT A MINIMUM, AN UNCLASSIFIED PERSON LICENCE FROM THE IOWA STATE LICENSING BOARD (AT EMPLOYEE EXPENSE)

Job Description:

The Energy Marshall will lead all electrical energizations and shutdowns within the facility, including but not limited to, writing all Methods of Procedures (with client representative) for all energizations for the project including switching process, LOTO process, safety steps and hold points. The Energy Marshall will report to the Project/Site Manager.

The LOTO Coordinator will utilize contract & company documents, one-line drawings and panel schedules to identify the devices and energy sources to be locked and tagged out, perform walk throughs throughout the facility to locate and verify and document accordingly.

Job Duration: 1+ years

Job Schedule: 6/10'S - Mon-Sat (subject to change)

Rate: Starting at $50/hour (depending on experience)

Per Diem: $900/week (must meet mileage requirements)

Duties and Responsibilities of Energy Marshal (including but not limited to):

\n
• Comprehensive understanding of the LOTO process & ability to manage the LOTO program
\n
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints (especially one-line diagrams) along with system redundancies to ensure the design of LOTO systems is compliant
\n
• Familiarity with multiple levels of power redundancy and major electrical equipment typically used in construction (Electrical Switchgear (MV & LV), Transformers (MV & LV), Uninterrupted Power Supply Systems, Automatic Transfer Switches, Generators, Power Distribution Units, etc.)
\n
• Prepare, review, submit and close out detailed Methods of Procedure outlining safe equipment energization steps
\n
• Coordination with the General Contractor and Owners Representatives
\n
• Coordination with all trades to ensure clear methods for communicating electrical safety plan
\n
• Participate in permit meetings (i.e., Plan of the Day, Energized Work, Commissioning)
\n
• Must comply with all safety and company rules and regulations
\n
• Independent authority for stopping all unsafe work practices
\n
• Manages Energy Isolation team and provides field training (i.e., LOTO Coordinators, Energization Team, Door Attendants, etc.)
\n
• Implement policies & procedures outlined in MMR’s HS&E Electrical Safety Plan
\n
• Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings and a project schedule
\n
• Employee must be able to travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or other public form of transportation
\n

Qualifications and Skills of Energy Marshal:

• NFPA 70E Qualified
\n
• Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE)
\n
• CPR / AED / First Aid
\n
• Contact Release
\n
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in construction doing electrical installations
\n
• Proficient in LOTO procedures
\n
• NCCER Plus Certification Preferred
\n
• Understanding of all related OSHA construction regulations and lockout requirements
\n
• Able to provide strong leadership and communication to site personnel
\n
• Possess effective planning skills
\n
• Experienced at problem solving and being an effective communicator
\n
• Must be proficient in standard Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook & Excel) as well as PDF editing programs (Revu/Bluebeam, Adobe) required.

• Verifiable safe work history
