Responsibilities

    \n
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately assemble, install, and repair machinery and structural components.
  • \n
  • Perform metal fabrication tasks including sheet metal work, pipe threading, plasma cutting, press brake operations, and sheet metal fabrication to meet project specifications.
  • \n
  • Execute various welding processes such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), ensuring adherence to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards.
  • \n
  • Use measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math to verify dimensions and ensure precision in fabrication and assembly.
  • \n
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, rigging equipment, forklifts, and machining tools safely while following all safety protocols.
  • \n
  • Install ductwork, piping systems, mechanical assemblies, and other structural components in construction or manufacturing environments.
  • \n
  • Interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for assembly or repair tasks while adhering to safety guidelines at all times.
  • \n
  • Conduct rigging operations for lifting heavy equipment or materials safely using appropriate rigging techniques.
  • \n
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed through shift reports and incident logs.
  • \n

Experience

    \n
  • Proven construction site experience with a solid understanding of mechanical systems installation and maintenance.
  • \n
  • Hands-on fabrication shop experience involving metal materials such as sheet metal, pipework, or structural steel.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW with knowledge of AWS standards.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpretation of mechanical drawings or schematics.
  • \n
  • Experience operating power tools such as plasma cutters, press brakes, grinders, drills, and saws within a fabrication environment.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations, rigging procedures, working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • \n
  • Ability to use measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for quality control purposes.
  • \n
  • Basic math skills including shop math necessary for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication or assembly tasks.
  • \n
  • Construction experience involving ductwork installation or pipe threading is highly desirable.
  • \n
  • Certification in welding or rigging is preferred; ongoing training in ASME codes & standards is a plus.
