Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing the operations, workflow, and nursing resources related to women's services.
Key Responsibilities:- Gather and assess relevant health information to create and execute personalized care plans, incorporating interventions and alternatives aimed at achieving measurable outcomes for women and newborns, all within a family-centered care framework.
- Facilitate care delivery that emphasizes woman-, newborn-, and family-centered approaches, utilizing health education strategies to promote, sustain, or restore health in a secure environment.
- Monitor and assess progress towards achieving expected outcomes in the context of family-centered care.
- Make ethical decisions and take actions on behalf of women, fetuses, and newborns, guided by a robust ethical decision-making framework, while respecting cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
- Engage in effective communication and collaboration with women, families, healthcare providers, and the community to ensure safe and holistic care.
- Act as a role model, change agent, consultant, and mentor for women, families, healthcare consumers, and fellow professionals, continuously updating knowledge and skills in line with current evidence-based nursing practices.
- Utilize or integrate evidence to identify, assess, validate, and evaluate interprofessional knowledge and various approaches to care for women and newborns, implementing new measures to enhance nursing quality as needed.
- Reflect on personal nursing practice and contribute to the evaluation of peers based on current evidence, professional standards, and regulations, considering resource factors related to safety, effectiveness, and fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure environmentally safe and healthy practices when planning and delivering care to women, newborns, and families.
- Apply established evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in women's services nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the specific age and clinical needs of patients as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Regularly communicate verbally to convey information.
- Consistently stand and walk.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry on a keyboard regularly.
- Utilize vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Employ sense of smell to identify odors frequently.
- Use hearing to receive verbal communication and detect body sounds or alarms regularly.
- Occasionally lift or move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally assist in lifting or moving patients.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with legs and arms.
- Occasionally drive.
- Rarely crawl or run.
