Staff Development Coordinator (Registered Nurse/RN)

Position Overview

The Staff Development Coordinator for nursing is responsible for the planning, organization, development, and management of all in-service educational programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a nursing diploma (either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing).
• Active and valid nursing license in the relevant state, with a requirement to maintain a good standing Registered Nurse (RN) license throughout the duration of employment.
• Preferred experience of at least one (1) year in skilled nursing.
• Experience in teaching or education is preferred.
• CPR certification is required upon hiring or must be obtained during orientation, and it must remain current throughout employment.

• A strong desire and capability to effectively train and educate nursing staff and other relevant associates.
• Possess expert knowledge in the nursing field.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Familiarity with practices, procedures, and the laws and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care setting.
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including but not limited to patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
• Adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
• Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing all required compliance training.

Core Duties

• Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate training, education, in-service programs, and orientation for staff.
• Maintain accurate records of associate training and in-service participation.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary.
• Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance.
• Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment effectively.
• Collaborate productively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Engage in various physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout the workday.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently.
