The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible clinician-educator in Obstetrics & Gynecology to join our growing team in the lively city of Charleston, SC. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in training future physician leaders while improving access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and its neighboring areas.

With a dedicated team of over 50 physicians and researchers focused on Women's Health, we take pride in our recognition by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 20 hospitals for Obstetrics & Gynecology.

In 2020, we inaugurated the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion, a cutting-edge facility spanning 100,000 square feet with 250 beds, revolutionizing the care provided for fetal, women's, and children's health in the region. Complementing this exceptional clinical care is the Charles P. Darby Children's Research Institute, the largest pediatric research center in the Carolinas and one of only 15 of its kind nationwide.

We are looking for candidates who:
  • Have completed an accredited residency or fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Are board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to teaching, possess excellent communication skills, and have a keen interest in academic pursuits.

  • Engage in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, shaping the future of OB/GYN specialists.
  • Join a collaborative and supportive department with over 50 physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and dedicated support staff.
  • Enjoy a customizable clinic schedule that aligns with your preferences and professional goals.
  • Provide dedicated coverage one day per month at our Labor & Delivery unit.
  • Approximately four weeks of inpatient coverage annually.
  • Participate in two OR sessions per month for GYN surgery cases, including robotic surgery for those credentialed in robotics, with support from subspecialists in GYN Oncology, Urogynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).
  • Be part of a flexible call system shared within the department, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • No research obligations required.
  • Utilize the EPIC medical record system.
