Family Medicine, Family Medicine Residency Program Director Outside Chicago
Job Description
Northwest Health in Valparaiso, Indiana is seeking a Program Director for our ACGME accredited Family Medicine Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for medical education and training residents combined with a strong focus and commitment to ensuring patient care remains a priority.

- Approximately 50% administration and 50% clinical \n
- Must have 3+ years of academic medicine experience as a Program Director or Core Faculty \n
- Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education is maintained \n
- Establish strategic direction of the program, its standards, quality, and reputation of the Family Medicine Residency program as followed by faculty and residents \n
- Residency program practice management, overall residency operations, and resident oversight \n
- Program recruitment, interviews, and selection of residents; six residents are welcomed per year \n
- Recruit and oversee faculty and clinical rotations \n
- Maintain ongoing clinical activity in Family Medicine, consistent with ACGME guidelines \n
- Teach residents through clinical and didactic work

Requirements:

- Board certified in Family Medicine \n
- Clinically practicing physician \n
- Documented educational and/or administrative experience required \n
- Experience in graduate medical education required \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills \n
- The ability to effectively deal with a broad range of people and personalities

Northwest Health Porter is a 200-bed acute care hospital located in Valparaiso, Indiana. Accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a full continuum of services, including emergency and trauma care, cardiology, oncology, primary care, obstetrics, pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, orthopedics, spine care, and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. The hospital features a Women and Childrens Pavilion and a long-standing neonatal intensive care unit serving Northwest Indiana.
