Job Description
Join Our Team as a Primary Care Physician

Our organization is seeking to welcome a Primary Care Physician to our dedicated team at the Kearny Mesa Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

The CBOC operates using a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. In collaboration with a team that includes a Primary Care Provider (PCP), Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), and a Clerk, the PCP will manage a patient panel of approximately 1,200 individuals. The role involves delivering primary care services in a collaborative environment, focusing on chronic disease management and preventive health care. Common conditions treated include:

  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Degenerative Arthritis
  • Depression
  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Chronic Pain

The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat non-surgical adult patients across all age groups, addressing a wide range of diseases, injuries, and disorders that are not life-threatening. Responsibilities also include assessing and stabilizing patients with urgent conditions, in accordance with medical staff policies regarding emergency and consultative services. The physician may supervise mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners, and will work closely with various specialties and subspecialties both within and outside the VA system to ensure comprehensive patient care. Select mental health and subspecialty services are available on-site, while additional services can be accessed through consultations with the San Diego VA Health Care System or the broader community.
