Job Description
Job Opportunity: OB/GYN Hospitalist

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN physician to enhance our growing OB/GYN Hospitalist team. This hybrid position is centered on delivering inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care, catering to both assigned and unassigned patients, while also addressing emergencies. The hospitalist will work in close collaboration with both our employed and community-based OB/GYN practitioners to maintain a high standard of care throughout our services.

We have a robust network comprising 36 OB/GYNs, 8 gynecologists, 2 Family Medicine OB physicians, and 16 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants. Annually, we assist in the delivery of around 4,000 babies, with continued growth anticipated as South Carolina ranks among the fastest-growing states in the nation.

The Hospitalist plays a vital role in resident education and ensures that a qualified OB/GYN physician is available on-site during critical hours. Our hospital system offers subspecialty services in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), gynecologic oncology, and urogynecology. Additionally, consultations from other specialties, such as general surgery, urology, and interventional radiology, are readily accessible.

Work Schedule

A full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist will be required to fulfill a predetermined number of annual shifts, which will be based on organizational needs, scheduling demands, and provider availability. Shifts are 12 hours long, occurring Monday through Friday, with full weekend coverage. Daytime call is managed by our community-based OB/GYNs, and the hospitalist will not be responsible for office duties or scheduled gynecologic surgeries during the day.
