Position Overview and QualificationsRegistered Nurses play a vital role in delivering and coordinating patient care. They work closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to offer both physical and emotional support to patients and their families.
The daily tasks of a Registered Nurse encompass a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting assessments, creating personalized care plans, administering medications, maintaining accurate documentation, educating patients, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, and effectively communicating patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Provide respiratory care, manage ventilators, and monitor patients accordingly.
- Act as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with your healthcare team.
Qualifications Required:
- Current RN licensure from the KY Board of Nursing or a compact state Board of Nursing.
- Preferred experience in an ICU setting.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- BLS certification is required.
- Must obtain ACLS certification within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.
- One to two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
