\nThis role plays a critical part in producing large fabricated structures and precision-machined components used in demanding maritime and defense applications. You'll work on a state-of-the-art Soraluce 5-axis floor bar machine, tackling projects that require advanced machining knowledge, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

\nThe Work You'll Be Doing
\nIn this role, you will:
\n- \n
- Set up and operate a Soraluce Horizontal 5-Axis Floor Bar machine \n
- Machine large, complex weldments and fabricated structures in 3-axis through 5-axis applications \n
- Independently set up intricate workpieces and fixturing \n
- Read and interpret advanced blueprints, engineering drawings, and job layouts \n
- Verify tool paths and perform collision analysis prior to machining operations \n
- Select tooling and establish machine setups using setup documentation \n
- Machine stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys, and high-temperature materials \n
- Hold dimensional requirements while maintaining production efficiency \n
- Perform in-process inspections and quality verification \n
- Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging operations for large-part handling \n
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams \n
- Maintain equipment and a safe, organized work environment \n

- 5+ years of CNC machining experience \n
- Strong 5-axis machining background \n
- Experience with tool path verification and collision analysis \n
- Ability to independently perform complex machine setups \n
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings \n
- Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, offsets, and machining processes \n
- Experience using precision measuring instruments \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality \n
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds \n
- Ability to stand for extended periods \n
Preferred

- Heidenhain TNC-7 control experience \n
- Experience machining large weldments and fabricated structures \n
- Experience working with weldments up to 90 feet in length \n
- Basic M-Code and G-Code knowledge \n
- Completion of a machining or CNC technology program \n
- Experience with quality gauging and inspection setups \n
- Marine, defense, heavy equipment, or large-part machining experience \n
