Position Overview\n

The Ernest Childers Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to provide high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia services across multiple care settings in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

\n

This role supports surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures in inpatient, outpatient, community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), and emergency department environments. Youll join a stable, mission-driven team with strong clinical and administrative support while contributing to expanding access to care for our nations Veterans.

Primary Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations, including history & physicals, risk assessment, and individualized care planning
  • \n
  • Deliver anesthesia care across all modalities:\n
      \n
    • General
    • \n
    • Regional
    • \n
    • Spinal / epidural
    • \n
    • Monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
    • \n
  • \n
  • Manage routine, complex, and emergent airways, including advanced airway techniques and mechanical ventilation
  • \n
  • Place and manage invasive monitoring (arterial lines, central venous catheters) as indicated
  • \n
  • Accurately document anesthesia care, plans, and outcomes in the EMR
  • \n
  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership to CRNAs and anesthesia staff
  • \n
  • Mentor and teach physicians, CRNAs, and residents in anesthesia and perioperative best practices
  • \n
  • Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to enhance OR efficiency, patient flow, and care quality
  • \n

Qualifications\n

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • \n
  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (or ability to obtain)

  • DEA certification (or eligibility)
  • \n
  • BLS/ACLS certification
