Position Overview: We are in search of a skilled and committed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to perform medical evaluations for veterans. This position is solely focused on independent assessments and does not include treatment responsibilities. You will be tasked with reviewing medical histories, conducting thorough evaluations, and completing VA-supplied Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) via a secure online platform. These evaluations will aid the VA in making informed disability decisions.
Primary Duties:
- Examine and interpret veterans' medical records through a secure web interface.
- Carry out detailed, non-treating evaluations of veterans to document their current health status.
- Fill out and submit DBQs using VA-specific templates to ensure all pertinent medical information is captured.
- Guarantee that all DBQs are comprehensive, precise, and submitted within 24 hours post-assessment.
- Evaluate up to four veterans each day.
Work Schedule: Part-Time, in-person. Travel required between McAllen, Laredo, and Corpus Christi.

- Preferred board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology; candidates with a completed two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
- Excellent typing skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial.
