Our organization is seeking a full-time General Orthopedic Surgeon with a focus on total joint procedures, including hips, knees, shoulders, and arthroscopy. This role involves providing care to Veteran patients at our facility. The selected candidate may be required to deliver services in various environments, such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units like Intensive Care and Medical/Surgical, as well as in the Emergency Department. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee all facets of medical care and support residents and/or mid-level practitioners in evaluating and treating patients within the Orthopedic Surgery service.

  • Conduct patient evaluations to monitor changes in both physical and mental health status.

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers within and outside of their service line, as well as with other VHA facilities or community providers, based on the veteran's care plan.

  • Provide consultations within their own and other service lines as necessary.

  • Ensure the delivery of clinical care, contribute to graduate and undergraduate medical education, and engage in scientific research as appropriate.

  • Perform surgical procedures and manage pre-operative and post-operative care for both major and minor operations, along with orthopedic consultations for inpatients and outpatients.
