NEEDED: Medical Assistant
\nLOCATION: 1 Glen Ray Road, Alderson, West Virginia, 24910
\nSCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
\nQUALIFICATIONS:
\n- \n
- Shall possess specialty training from a licensed and/or certification program for Medical Assistants. \n
- Shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association \n
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Medical Assistant services. \n
JOB DUTIES:
\n- \n
- Providing nursing care to include taking and recording patient history, vital signs, scanning, making appointments, assisting PA's/NP'S/RN'S and physicians in clinical activities. \n
- Drawing blood from patients for analysis or other medical tests, glucose sticks. \n
- Collecting and processing laboratory tests. \n
- Operating the EKG machines and other special medical apparatus and equipment within the Health Services Department. \n
- Assisting the medical providers and visiting clinical specialty consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow through the chronic care clinic, optometry and general clinics when scheduled. \n
- Assisting primary providers in the urgent care room when necessary and utilizing basic medical equipment. \n
- Pulling, filing and copying medical records while maintaining supplies in all exam rooms. \n
- Screening eye exams and assisting physicians and mid-level practitioners in minor surgical cases, if needed. \n
- Maintaining daily sick call list/call out. \n
- Assisting, routing and scheduling with medical trip paperwork. \n
- Monitoring scheduled and unscheduled appointments and/or hospitalizations at commw1ity-based clinics and/or hospitals. Assignments may include but are not limited to: \n

- Processing and assembling escorted trip authorizations packets, emergency and special outside medical trips on a weekly basis. \n
- Ensuring that each escorted trip authorization packet is reviewed by the appropriate staff. \n
- Tracking appointments/cancellations and special instructions. \n
\n - Knowledgeable of using the BEMR system. \n
