RN ICU Weekends Only

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU working weekends only, your insights and contributions to patient care are highly valued. You will have opportunities to engage in open, collaborative discussions with your direct supervisor, as well as participate in formal initiatives through hospital councils and national nursing programs. Your input will help shape decisions that enhance patient outcomes and advance the nursing profession.

Position Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Working alongside medical professionals and other members of the healthcare team, the RN provides tailored, comprehensive, and compassionate care by utilizing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and clinical results that enhance overall departmental performance.

• Conducts procedures, monitoring, and other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of care in the patient’s medical record.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-pharmaceutical follow-up strategies, including healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management techniques.
• Implements evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives to meet and surpass quality standards, enhancing the exceptional care provided to patients.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to manage the quality of care, coordinating, assessing, customizing, and delivering a holistic treatment plan that fosters recovery.

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree, Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
