360X Staffing is hiring for Shipfitters in Philadelphia, PA.
\nPay: $32-33/hr + $150 daily per diem for days worked
\nJob DescriptionWe are seeking experienced 1st Class Shipfitters to join a leading shipbuilding team in Philadelphia, PA. This position is responsible for the fabrication, fitting, assembly, and installation of structural steel components used in commercial and government vessels. Candidates must have a strong background in heavy shipbuilding or ship repair and be proficient in blueprint reading, layout, burning, fitting, and tack welding. Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret shipbuilding blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. \n
- Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of structural steel components for new construction and ship repair. \n
- Assemble basic plate and stiffener structures to shipyard specifications. \n
- Fabricate and assemble large panels, double bottoms, and structural modules, including pre-outfitting activities. \n
- Perform web line production, including plate cutting and material preparation. \n
- Utilize a variety of shipbuilding tools and equipment, including grinders, oxy-acetylene torches, hand tools, and measuring devices. \n
- Perform tack welding using Stick (SMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) processes as required. \n
- Operate oxy-acetylene burning torches for cutting, beveling, and material preparation. \n
- Verify fit-up accuracy prior to final welding. \n
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all OSHA and shipyard safety procedures. \n
- Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and other trades to meet production schedules and quality standards. \n
Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Shipfitter in a shipyard, heavy industrial manufacturing, ship repair, or fabrication environment. \n
- Experience working on heavy steel structures, pressure vessels, boilers, or similar large fabricated products. \n
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills. \n
- Experience fitting structural steel components with minimal supervision. \n
- Proficiency using grinders, torches, hand tools, and common shipbuilding equipment. \n
- Experience with Stick (SMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) tack welding. \n
- Experience operating an oxy-acetylene burning torch for cutting and beveling steel. \n
- Strong understanding of industrial safety practices. \n
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high production and quality standards. \n

Working Days: Monday - Saturday
\nHours: 50+/week
