Job Summary

\n

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Longview, TX. This role is focused exclusively on inpatient GI coverage, working collaboratively with a gastroenterologist to manage the inpatient GI service. The APP will play a key role in evaluating consults, rounding on patients, and supporting continuity of care in a hospital-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • \n

    Evaluate and manage initial ER and floor consults for gastroenterology patients

    • \n
  • \n

    Perform daily inpatient rounding on GI patients

    • \n
  • \n

    Collaborate closely with the gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive inpatient GI coverage

    • \n
  • \n

    Assess and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions

    • \n
  • \n

    Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies

    • \n
  • \n

    Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams

    • \n
  • \n

    Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans

    • \n
  • \n

    Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

    • \n

Qualifications

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Current Texas license as a Physician Assistant

    • \n
  • \n

    National certification (NCCPA)

    • \n
  • \n

    Previous inpatient, gastroenterology, hospital medicine, or internal medicine experience preferred

    • \n
  • \n

    Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a hospital-based setting

    • \n
  • \n

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Schedule & Compensation

    Inpatient only

    • \n
  • \n

    7 on / 7 off schedule (Thursday-Wednesday)

    • \n
  • \n

    7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)

    • \n
  • \n
