BASIC PURPOSE
\n To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\n- \n

Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
\n - \n
Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
\n - \n
Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.
\n - \n
Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
\n - \n
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
\n - \n
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
\n - \n
Other duties as assigned by manager.
\n
QUALIFICATIONS
\n- \n
- \n
Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
\n - \n
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
\n - \n
Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
\n - \n
Must possess a valid driver's license.
\n - \n
High school diploma or equivalent required.
\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification
\n - \n
Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system
\n - \n
Previous mechanical and PM program experience
\n - \n
Experience using fleet maintenance software
\n - \n
Welding ability
\n
WORK ENVIRONMENT
\n- \n
- \n
Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
\n - \n
Ability to work flexible schedule.
\n - \n
Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
\n

Over 100 lbs (Very Heavy) Occasionally 1. Push/pull Occasionally Item: transmissions, tires & clutches 2. Climb/balance Occasionally Item: ladders & lift gates 3. Stoop/squat Frequently 4. Kneel/bend Occasionally 5. Bend Frequently 6. Reach above shoulder Occasionally 7. Grasp objects Frequently Type: 8. Manipulate objects Frequently type: 9. Twisting Occasionally
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $30 and $34.
