Position Overview:

This role involves assessing and implementing medically prescribed physical therapy programs aimed at addressing movement dysfunction and alleviating pain caused by injuries, illnesses, disabilities, or other health-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of patients' conditions.
  • Develop, modify, and assess a care plan tailored to identified issues, engaging the patient and their family in the process.
  • Administer therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques suitable for the patient's condition.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff by identifying educational needs.
  • Ensure continuity of care by collaborating on discharge planning with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, providing home care instructions, recommending necessary equipment or modifications, and suggesting follow-up care as needed.
  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and other support staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation detailing patient responses to therapy and the necessity for skilled interventions as required by regulatory standards.
  • Work in a consistently alert and safe manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy or a related field necessary for state licensure.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
  • Regularly use hearing and speech for effective communication.
  • Frequently distinguish body sounds and respond to alarms or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Regularly utilize vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Engage in frequent walking, reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, climb, kneel, sit, squat, twist, and perform repetitive movements with feet, legs, hands, and arms.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasionally assist in lifting or moving patients.
  • Occasionally use vision to assess distances, spatial relationships, and color differentiation.
  • Occasionally drive.
  • Rarely crawl.
Licensure and Certifications:

Resuscitation Certification: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification is required within 90 days of employment. Additional resuscitation certifications may be necessary based on departmental needs.

State-Specific Licensure:

Illinois: Licensed Physical Therapist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Missouri: Licensed Physical Therapist - Missouri Division of Professional Registration

Oklahoma: Licensed Physical Therapist - Oklahoma Medical Board

Wisconsin: Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
