Radiologist Section Chief of Imaging Informatics opportunity in Phoenix!
Job Description
Our organization is currently in search of a Section Chief of Imaging Informatics for the Radiology Service at our medical center located in Phoenix, Arizona. This department provides a range of radiology subspecialty services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care for Veterans throughout central Arizona.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the enterprise-wide PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) operations.
- Supervise staff dedicated to PACS operations, ensuring effective digital image sharing between our facility and Community Care partners.
- Oversee the largest clinical department within our organization, which comprises over 130 employees across nine specialty divisions, including:
- Staff Radiology
- Vascular and Interventional Radiology Services
- CT Services
- Nuclear Medicine Services
- Ultrasound Services
- Breast Imaging Services
- Diagnostic Radiology
- MRI Services
- Clerical Services
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations while managing patient flow, scheduling, and quality monitoring.
- Work alongside 24 radiologists providing both subspecialty and general radiology coverage, with a preference for candidates specializing in Neuroradiology or Musculoskeletal Radiology.
Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: Competitive compensation package, with potential earnings up to $400,000 annually, plus an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
- Sign-on Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.
- Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of paid time off each year, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for continuing medical education (CME).

- Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on additional employment opportunities.
- A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Possession of one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, with the requirement to maintain an active status.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory; non-citizens may only be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
