Join Our Team as a Physician Advisor

Our organization, a leading integrated health system in New Jersey, is actively looking for Physician Advisors to join us in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will collaborate closely with both local and corporate administration, the medical staff, and the leadership of the case management department. This partnership aims to deliver a comprehensive clinical resource management program that encompasses utilization management, care progression management, social work services, and intricate discharge planning.

Available Locations:
  • Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ
  • Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ
  • Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and upholding standardized practices for Physician Advisor Services, including:
    • Throughput and Length of Stay management
    • Observation Hours oversight
    • Next Site of Care planning
  • Leading multidisciplinary rounds
  • Contributing to the review and formulation of medical guidelines and policies aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency of care
Performance Metrics:
  • Achieving defined Length of Stay goals
  • Aligning Medicare Length of Stay with Geometric/Arithmetic Benchmarks
  • Meeting Commercial Length of Stay targets
  • Achieving organizational goals for Observation Hours
  • Meeting objectives related to Next Site of Care
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible with a valid New Jersey medical license
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience
  • Prior experience in Utilization Management within an acute care setting
  • Leadership experience is essential
  • CHCQM certification required
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations and nationally accepted guidelines such as MCG and InterQual
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively
