The University of Miami Health System is initiating a search for a Gastroenterologist. The physician in the clinical track is responsible for providing direct inpatient and outpatient care to GI patients at UHealth Locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital. He/she will provide outpatient clinical and endoscopic services, as well as rounding/teaching on inpatients at UHealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain outpatient clinical practice at UHealth locations, UHealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital
  • \n
  • Perform Core and non-core endoscopic services to patients
  • \n
  • Maintain outpatient clinic schedule
  • \n
  • Rotate on night and weekend call proportionate to other faculty
  • \n
  • Rotate proportionate to other faculty on inpatient and JMH teaching services
  • \n
  • Provide advanced endoscopic call proportionate to other advanced endoscopic physicians.

Qualifications:

\n
\n
    \n
  • MD Degree and ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency
  • \n
  • Completed 3 year ACGME US gastroenterology fellowship
  • \n
  • Completed 1 year of non-ACGME advanced endoscopy fellowship
  • \n
  • BC/BE Gastroenterology
  • \n
  • Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply
  • \n
  • Valid DEA licensure
  • \n
\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

\n
\n
\n
    \n
  • Completion of US ACGME 3 year gastroenterology fellowship
  • \n
  • Complete of 1 Year advanced endoscopic fellowship
  • \n
  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
  • \n
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required
  • \n
\n
