Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. They serve as a resource for staff and exemplify a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby enhancing patient experiences and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
  • Embraces a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Contributes to improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly checks.
  • Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
  • Helps maintain proper inventory control and assists in managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Training:

  • Must hold a current license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice or possess an active compact license, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
